Rural fire brigades are a reflection of the local community, and is made up of volunteers from all walks of life - men and women from different backgrounds, age groups and professions.
In addition to firefighting, there are a multitude of other rolls within the Rural Fire Service, including communications, catering, logistics and planning – there is a job for almost everyone. Woronora brigade specialises in fighting fires from boats and so you will acquire extensive maritime experience in addition to firefighting skills.
Our fire station is open most Sunday mornings at 9am and you are welcome to visit to find out more about joining the RFS, and hopefully our brigade.
